Dixon 4-H Achievement Program held November 2

The Dixon County 4-H Achievement program was held on Sunday November 2 at the Haskell Ag Laboratory near Concord. As part of the 4-H Celebration, the program this year also featured a video with the new directions of 4-H, and a power point with pictures of the 4-H year in Dixon County.

County Award Winners for 2003 were: Korah Kramper, Jackson, Beef; Alicia Gregerson, Allen, Cat; Jennifer Davey, Newcastle, Goat, Home Environment and Photography; Drew Beldin, Ponca, Horse and Poultry; Carla Rastede, Allen, Fashion Revue;Michael Gregerson, Allen, Bicycle; Heather Bearnes, Laurel, Food & Nutrition and Wood Science; and Adam Stark, Ponca, Rocketry.

Most Completed Projects was awarded to: Alicia Gregerson, Allen, a member of the Pleasure & Profit 4-H Club. The recipient this year complete 66 projects

Herdsmanship Award for the year 2003 is the Green Acres 4-H Club, club leader is Donna Davey.

Cow/Calf Award was presented to Kyle Metzger, Newcastle, a member of the New Generation 4-H Club.

Winners of the Green Chris Clover awards, presented to younger 4-H members who particpated in a variety of activites were: Winners of the Green Chris Clover awards are: Lathan Kraft, Allen; Rylee Rich, Ponca; Amber Stark, Ponca; John Stark, Ponca; Korah Kramper, Jackson; Tyrel Harwager, Allen; Katie Anderson, Ponca and Landon Kraft,Allen.

Winners of the Bronze Chris Clover Award are: Christina Gregerson, Allen; Elizabeth Ebmeier, Laurel; Amanda Luhr, Wakefield; Daniel Muller, Allen; Keri Lunz, Wakefield;and Alison Luhr, Wakefield.

Clover Kids were welcomed to the 4-H program with a special pins. Receiving Clover Kid Pins were: Jonathan Webb, Jackson; Aliah Nelson, Ponca; Parker Conrad, Ponca; Caleb Thomas,Newcastle; Elizabeth Nelson, Ponca; Tyler Davis, Jackson; Kristyna Muller, Allen; Jacob Lunz, Wakefield; Ashely Gregerson, Allen; Ryan Knudsen, Dakota City; James Stark,Ponca; Kayla Crosgrove, Ponca and Marissa Gregerson, Allen.

Several leaders received a special pin this year for their continued support of the 4-H program. Receiving two year leader pins were: Donna Davey, Robert Gottsche, Rebecca Irby, Julie Schram, and Richard Stinger. Receiving a five year pin was: Mark Garland.

Volunteer Pins are given out to all 4-H leaders and parents that complete the volunteer screening form during the calendar year. Individuals that were added to the Dixon County volunteer list in 2003 were: Randy Stark, Jeanne Davis, Janiece Brachtenbach, Rhonda Stark, Donna Davey, Rita Langhorst, Mark Muller and Mark Garland.
