Dixon County 4-H Public Speaking Contest Held

The Dixon County 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held Monday April 5 at the Haskell Ag Lab near Concord after being postponed in March. Nineteen youth participated in the contest. Receiving a blue ribbon in the Senior Division was Jennifer Davey, Newcastle. She is eligible to participate in the Regional Contest April 17 in Norfolk.

In the Intermediate division: Seth and Taylor Gould, Newcastle received a blue ribbons. They are also eligible for the district contest. In the Junior division purple ribbons went to: Keri Lunz; Wakefield; Alison and Amanda Luhr, Wakefield and Elizabeth Ebmeier, Laurel. Keri, Alison, and Elizabeth are eligible for district competition with Amanda as alternate. Blue ribbons went to: Joseph Watts, Jackson; Alison Davey, Newcastle; Beth Cloninger, Wakefield, and Lydia Gould, Newcastle.

Purple ribbon winner in the Novice division went to: Katie Anderson, Ponca. Receiving blue ribbons were: Heather Lieber, Jackson; Daniel Muller, Allen; Aimee Cloninger, Wakefield, Jacob Lunz, Wakefield and Samara Eiler, Ponca. Participating as a Clover Kid was Kristyna Muller, Allen. Clover Kids receive participation ribbons. Pictures are available in the 4-H photo album.

Mary Jarvi, Wayne served as judge for the event.
