Volunteering Benefits Youths, Society
While negative stereotypes may haunt the outlook, lifestyles and attitudes of young people today, most youth in the country actually are healthy, happy and productive members of society. The majority of youth in the U.S. engage in some form of volunteer activity, and a greater percentage of youth volunteer compared to adults. When youth volunteer, almost everyone involved reaps the benefits. More than $60 billion is estimated to be contributed annually to the U.S. economy by virtue of volunteer services. Volunteering also aids various service organizations by cutting down costs of operations and making services available to a larger audience. More

Teaching Kids About Money
Teaching kids about money is something we tend to forget or leave until they are older. Sometimes we think that learning to handle money involves math. If we struggle with math, we think we will struggle with money management. Learning to handle money has very little, if anything, to do with learning math concepts. Or we think that money management means following a budget or teaching kids to save. What we need to teach children is how to get, spend, save and share money. More

A Little Money Saved Goes a Long Way
The national trend is to borrow more and save less. Currently, the nation's personal savings rate is a negative one-half percent, something that hasn't happened since the Great Depression. A recent study commissioned by Consumer Credit Counseling Service, revealed that overall consumer debt increased 38 percent for households at all income levels last year. More
