Real World Money Scheduled for April 2009
Seventh or eighth grade students are invited to attend a Real World Money Program on April 17 or 20 at the Lifelong Learning Center, Norfolk. This interactive financial management program is designed to help students become better prepared to make financial decisions as young adults. Th program is being opened to 8th grade this year due to the weather cancellation last year.
Schools should bring one adult for every ten students. Teachers/adults will work with students to develop financial skills and put them into practice throughout the day in a real world simulation. The students will:
1. Experience a real life simulation where youth can express their views on financial resources and learn the impact on future decisions
2. Learn about the psychology of money
3. Be able to make wise credit choices
4. Gain a better understanding of family finances
5. Realize the limits of financial resources both within the family and as a young adult.
